Retiring Stamp Highlight - Southern Serenade

I am highlighting another stamp set that will be retiring at the end of May, or while supplies last, Southern Serenade.

I used the flower image from the stamp set, and decided to give my Stampin' Blends a play. I used Versmark and black embossing powder to stamp the image onto some Whisper White cardstock. FYI...use embossing buddy to remove static from cardstock prior to applying image. Then I colored in the image, trying to use a highlight technique. Night of Navy on the flowers, and Old Olive on the leaves.

Let me say I am not the best of blending, but these Stampin' Blends help me out.

I took some Night of Navy, and sponged the edges roughly as seen in photo. I added some dimensionals to the back and adhered to card base.

On the card base, I stamped the small flower image in black.

I stamped "Happy Birthday", in Night of Navy, and punched out with circle punch, placed a dimensional on the lower bottom and added some metallic thread in loops behind. Then placed on bottom right corner of stamped flower image.

This is a simple card that even a beginner could make.

Simple but elegant for a lovely ladies birthday!

Whisper White - 3 x 4, scrap for punched sentiment
Night of Navy - 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
