Watercolor Flowers...Using Stamps

I love the look of watercolor flowers, don't you?  But unlike the great water colorist, I can not use a brush, water and color.  But what I can do is use images from my stamp collection.

Take a stamp set, some ink pads, and water...bam you can create a beautiful card that looks like you learned to paint from the greats.

The card I show today, is just that.  I took the retiring stamp set Blooms & Wishes, along with a couple of new ink colors, and created a lovely card.

I think this would be lovely on a scrapbook page too.  In the corners, with a black and white picture...ohhhhh I need to make that!!!

I ended up making 4 cards using this technique, and I plan on giving them out to co-workers for Mother's day.

If you love this stamp set, I suggest heading over to my online store to get yours before they are gone forever from the catalog.

Here are the dimensions for the card:

Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4...or the opposite like I did on the video.
Mat - 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Watercolor Cardstock or Shimmery White - 5 1/4 x 4

I even put a little video together to show you how I created the area for the sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed this card, and I look forward to creating more.  Let's see your versions, come over to Ladybug Stampin Spot on Facebook, and post your cards.

Textured Love Thank You Card

Ok, first let me explain my blog has to do with what the bundle is called and the card is a Thank You card.  Ok, now let's proceed to the details :)

Stampin' Up! has issued an early release ahead of the 2018-19 Annual Catalog debut. During the month of May you can purchase 1, or all, of 3 bundles with the Share What You Love suite.

Let me say, I love this early release!! I love flowers, even though I cant grow them.  I pretty much kill them within a week.  So all my flowers are from DSP paper packs, hey they don't wither and get brown.

I had created the parts month apart from each other, but knew they deserved to be together in a card. I choose Night of Navy as my base color, as it just makes the foil and embossing paste jump off the card.
And who doesn't love gingham ribbon? No really, who??  I guess there might be a few, but I am not one of them.  Thankfully this ribbon is carrying over till the new catalog. Whew!!

Now let's see your variations on this technique.

Card dimensions, products listed at end of post:

Card Base 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
Foil Sheet 3 3/4 x 4 1/4
Sentiment Cardstock piece - 1 x 2 1/8
Window Sheet - cut down after masking technique 1 1/4 x 5 1/2

I have a video, on putting the card together, and showing how I embossed the window sheet with embossing paste.

Follow this Link for more information on the Share What You Love Bundle.

Get it before it's gone!  Also, don't forget the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog will be retiring at the of May, check out the retirement list for discounted products that are not carrying over.
