Embossed Silhouette

I am part of a group of paper crafters that are on a Periscope Crafting Train every Friday Night.  I try to show a technique during these, while showcasing Stampin’ Up! product. Sometimes I know what I want to show and other times I am running on empty due to life.

***Periscope – Live Streaming App, that you can now view on your computer.***

This past Friday, was one of the latter so I had to come up with a quick card yet effective.  This has worked for me, maybe a few times in the past.  But this week I delivered a great card, or so I was told.

I was inspired by a piece of art I found on Pinterest, that had nothing to do with paper crafting. I love to look through the web, find a piece of art, a print from a rug or clothing, and many other things.
So I digress, on to the card….I love this silhouette, which is embossed with silver on a wood grain background.

I even had to create another card to finish off the DSP (Designer Series Paper), and some more embossing.

The recipe, and supplies I used:

First Card –
8 ½ x 5 ½ Early Espresso Cardstock, Scored at 4 ¼
5 ¼ x 4 Whisper White Cardstock, this will be for inside of card
5 ¼ x 4 Silver Foil Sheet
5 1/8 x 3 7/8 Wood Textures DSP Paper Stack 6 x 6
Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder
Colorful Seasons Stamp Set (used the larger tree limb, 3 large flowers, “Just Breath” sentiment)
Embossing Buddy
Heat Tool
Versamark
Stampin’ Trimmer
Bone Folder
Fast Fuse Adhesive
Block H, C, B

Second Card -
8 ½ x 5 ½ Early Espresso Cardstock, Scored at 4 ¼
5 3/8 x 4 1/8 Silver Foil Sheet
2 x 5 3/8 Wood Textures DSP Paper Stack (using the piece cut from same 6 x 6 piece above)
Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set (tree limb, bunch of flowers, and sentiment)
Silver 1/8” Ribbon
1 1/2” Circle Punch
1 3/8” Circle Punch
Embossing Buddy
Heat Tool
Versamark
Stampin’ Trimmer
Bone Folder
Fast Fuse Adhesive
Block H, C, B

Let's Celebrate Your Day!!!

I love creating with Stampin' Up! product, so I decided to make a gift box for some of team that had promoted.   The gift box contains a Wink of Stella!!!!  I did first search the internet and Pinterest for a box template to use but could not find one.  Therefore I had to create one, at first I was a little scared to try but I buckled down and figured out the dimension and style I wanted.

And do you know, it was not that hard.  Yes it took some time, but I put my math and measurement skills together and came up with this box.

Isn't it cute!!!

Stampin' Style DIY Picture Frame

I love when my crafting worlds collide and turn out something beautiful.  I have been crafting with all mediums for as long as I can remember. I have been stamping, creating cards and scrapbooks since my early 30's.  And while I love being a cardmaker, I love other crafts as well.  I have made these picture frames in the past, and thought let's join the two!!

So I hopped on Periscope and created this picture frame with help from my crafty/stamping friends.
You no longer need an app to watch Periscope, you can join me at Periscope.tv/LadybugStampin, you will need to set up an account.  Then you can watch me from your phone, tablet or personal computer.

I showed how you can stamp, and emboss on wood.  Add some other elements/accessories, add a picture and bam you have a DIY frame.

Thanks to Nikki for suggesting the "blue jean" flower, which I made out of Dapper Demin Cardstock.

I have a video on YouTube explaining the process, and as soon as I get some more wood, I will go step by step. It is pretty self explanatory though, just need to add your own vision.

Thanks for stopping by, and I would love to see what you create.  Post pictures in my Facebook Group - Ladybug Stampin Spot.

If you would like any products that I used please click on the link to my online store.  If you have any questions, please ask.
